Hazardous & Difficult Removals

Specialized removal planning for damaged trees, confined spaces, and trees close to buildings, supported by climbing and rigging expertise.

DIFFICULT REMOVALS

Why a Hazardous Tree Needs a Different Plan

A tree with broken or hanging limbs, a split trunk, major storm damage, or a position close to a structure can leave little room for error. The removal plan must account for how sections of the tree will be handled around buildings and other property features.

Our crew uses climbing and rigging experience to plan difficult removals around the tree, the site, and available access. We assess each job before recommending an approach; conditions on site determine what can be done safely.

  • Compromised trees close to homes or outbuildings
  • Hanging or broken limbs over an area people use
  • Tight sites with limited room to lower or drop material
  • Storm-damaged trees that need a careful, staged approach

Site Information for a Difficult Removal

Describe the buildings, wires, vehicles, or access routes near the tree. A few clear photos from a safe distance and notes about gates, driveways, and access help us understand the layout. Do not approach an unstable tree or hanging limb to take pictures.

Power-line warning

If a tree or branch is touching a power line, stay well away and contact the utility or emergency services. Do not try to move it.

Planning the Removal

Risk and position

The tree’s condition and what is within reach affect how the work is planned.

Rigging and access

Limited room, obstacles, and equipment access can change the steps involved.

Did You Know?

Green leaves do not tell the whole story

A tree can stay alive despite internal decay. Structural condition matters alongside the appearance of its leaves.

Branch angles matter

Narrow unions between major stems are more prone to splitting than well-formed, wider branch attachments.

Dead ash can become brittle

Emerald ash borer damage can leave ash trees brittle, making removal challenging even for experienced professionals.
